After all they said about new White House http://www.whitehouse.gov/ site at the comments for http://personaldemocracy.com/node/15131 , http://digg.com/software/WhiteHouse_gov_Drupal_Detractors_Get_Buggy , http://www.slate.com/id/2233719/ etc. and I said personally here, I want to say a few words of support for the new White House incentive. Seems I should say these even if no one will notice.
It's not just Drupal and so, but I feel something good about that site even not thinking about Drupal and open software related issues. It's just I feel it's much more useful and more people friendly in comparison to other government sites.
Sure, there's much Obama in it, he's almost on every page, he did it and did that, he's talking to kids at school and makes a speech to Congress and so on. Yes, there's much done for his rating, sure. However it's much less of him in comparison to other government sites. There's Nicolas Sarcozy everywhere at http://www.gouvernement.fr/ (which is Drupal too, BTW) and his photo's the logo at the http://www.elysee.fr/ !
And even that isn't too much, let's get back to our Ukrainian reality and see how much of president Uschenko is at http://www.president.gov.ua/ and prime minister Timoshenko at the http://www.kmu.gov.ua/control/ . Isn't it too much of their faces, acts and speeches done for rating there?
Now, http://www.whitehouse.gov/ is loading much quicker then http://www.gouvernement.fr/ and of course much more quicker then these two http://www.president.gov.ua/ and http://www.kmu.gov.ua/control/ . Can't they do the same page loading time for all our tax payers money that White House did?
Now let's see what they're doing there at their sites.
There's flu epidemies in different countries all-over the world now. Let's see if these sites offer us something to do with it.
Ok, I see that, a http://flu.gov link, a map and the measures to take about the flu clearly:

Here's what we have here, prime minister makes a speech:

Ok, your speech is good, but can you lay out a page saying what us to do about that flu?
I see many other good incentives at the new White House site, and I'll lay out some posts about these here, when I'll have some time. It's just one last thing I should mention:
Seems that open government may be a good thing even for it trying to help its citizen to stay alive. Don't you think so?
